Associate Professor Michelle Caldecott graduated from University of Adelaide in 1993 and then went on to receive her fellowship in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine in 2001. Michelle has over 25 years’ experience in treating respiratory disorders in both public and private sectors. She currently holds senior staff specialist positions at Austin Health (Heidelberg) and with the Victorian Respiratory Support Service (VRSS).
Michelle offers comprehensive assessment of a wide range of respiratory and sleep disorders. She utilises sleep laboratories across Epworth sites and also performs flexible bronchoscopy at Epworth Richmond.
Assoc. Prof. Caldecott has held various executive roles for the Epworth Healthcare group during her 25-year association with Epworth, most recently as the Director of the Internal Medicine Clinical Institute. She has also previously held consultant positions at The Northern Hospital and Peter McCallum Cancer Institute.
Michelle is a Research Associate at the Institute for Breathing and Sleep (IBAS), currently undertaking clinical research in the areas of motor neurone disease and lung cancer.
First and foremost, Assoc. Prof Caldecott has a strong clinical focus and has always advocated for a patient centred, evidence based approach to diagnosis and management of respiratory disease.
