Dr Michelle CaldecottAdult Respiratory and Sleep Physician

Associate Professor Michelle Caldecott graduated from University of Adelaide in 1993 and then went on to receive her fellowship in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine in 2001. Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in treating respiratory disorders in both public and private sectors. She currently holds senior staff specialist positions at Austin Health (Heidelberg) and with the Victorian Respiratory Support Service (VRSS). 

Michelle offers comprehensive assessment of a wide range of respiratory and sleep disorders. She utilises sleep laboratories across Epworth sites and also performs flexible bronchoscopy at Epworth Richmond.

Assoc. Prof Caldecott is the Director of Internal Medicine Clinical Institute (IMCI) for the Epworth Healthcare group, leading Epworth strategy development and clinical governance within the institute.  Dr. Caldecott has also previously held consultant positions at The Northern Hospital and Peter McCallum Cancer Institute.

Her current research interests include assessment of sleep and circadian rhythm disorders following traumatic brain injury.

First and foremost, Assoc. Prof Caldecott has a strong clinical focus and has always advocated for a patient centred, evidence based approach to diagnosis and management of respiratory disease.
